What is Navigator?

Navigator is a dynamic, fast-moving learning experience for emerging leaders.

Through the programme participants will gain real insight into the way in which society works. By the end of the week they will be motivated by what they have witnessed first hand and they will have taken steps to raise their game as emerging leaders, both within their own organisation and in society as a whole.

During the week we will encourage participants to aim for the following:

  • To meet and challenge a diverse range of leaders and peers from all sectors and to re-evaluate their understanding of leadership in the 21st Century
  • To gain insight into and experience the value of diversity in all its forms
  • To step outside the perimeters of their own background and to understand how a range of organisations deal with common issues
  • To spot opportunities for their own organisation and for them as individuals by identifying transferable ideas and good practice
  • To have fun and to safely step outside their comfort zone!

What's the benefit?

  • Participants have a better understanding of diversity through the group interaction.
  • Participants are given the tools to look for solutions outside their own immediate sphere.
  • Participants develop a more creative attitude to issues and problem solving.
  • Participants gain a wider understanding of the activities and value of other organisations and the opportunities available in a modern urban living and business environment.

Participants come from extremely diverse backgrounds. All of Common Purpose’s programmes are deliberately cross-sector and Navigator is no exception.

What participants say

“Everyone in the country should go on it!! It was by far the best learning experience of my life.”

"I have gained a unique insight, which has given me the tools to become a better decision maker, advisor and leader.”

“I have learned to think beyond normal parameters and am more receptive to new ideas and new ways of thinking.”
